Regulation
(Acrylic, Arduino, pen and motors)

The interactive installation reacts to the audience’s approach. The installation elicits the audience to think about the role they take when interacting with this piece. The project intends to discuss behavior under regulation and authority. The two drawing bots draw randomly when there is no audience nearby. When they detect the approach of the audience, however, they start to erase and draw straight lines.

The two drawing bots depicts an image that happens everywhere, within any institutions. It could be a smaller circumstance saying two students are being regulated, or could be a larger image saying two citizens are being regulated. By making the audience authority figures, the piece force the audience to be a supervisor.
